PLANNING TRAINING IN FENCING
Training of fencers consists of a set of activities aimed at mastering the technique and tactics of fencing to achieve maximum sporting results in it. At the same time, the training has the task of general improvement, comprehensive physical education and education in order to prepare for labor and defense activities. When constructing a training session, it is necessary to take into account the nature of the work of those involved, their working conditions, diet, etc.
Training, therefore, has the goal of: 1) Improving the activity of the organs of blood circulation, respiration, metabolism, excretion, etc., and preparing the body for the most economical expenditure of energy with various psychophysical stresses. Continue reading
On the principles of fencing: Technique.
In a previous post, I talked about the general principles of an armless duel and the preparation of an attack. I thought about switching to weapons, then to armor, and so on, but I realized that I still had to talk more about technology. Otherwise, one would have to make regular digressions, which would hardly have a good effect on the structure of the narrative.
Since this is not obvious to everyone, I’ll say again – I write these posts primarily for people who are not familiar with fencing. This is not a textbook, but popularization, my goal is to acquaint, not teach. That is why I simplify and try my best to avoid details. If you think that somewhere I’m wrong (and this may indeed be so, because I may not have enough system knowledge), write in the comments. Continue reading
About the principles of fencing: Weapons
First of all, I want to note that when I say “weapons”, I mean everything that a person holds in his hands, leading a battle. The shield is also a weapon. When you need to clarify, I will write this way – weapons for attack, weapons for defense. It may be unusual, but it’s really easier.
Speaking of weapons – it doesn’t even matter, cold or any other, you need to understand that it is primarily a tool. And, like any other tool, it should perform the tasks as well as possible. Therefore, in order to understand the requirements for weapons, it is necessary to study the tactical situation in which it should be used. Continue reading
Types of Fencing
About 30 years ago, fencing was one particular sport. Now there are a number of sports and near-sports disciplines that can be called fencing. With fairly different rules and shells, what unites them is that one way or another the cold steel battle is simulated – which is fencing in the broad sense of the word.
For adherents of one kind or another, I’ll immediately declare that I’m not going to drown for one thing. I also do not consider martial arts such as kendo, slept, or naginatajutsu, since I know very little about them. In the review there will be only “European” fencing. Continue reading
About armor battle
If earlier I wrote mainly about an armless duel, now I’ll consider a battle in armor. For starters, what is armor in general? Many at these words imagine something like this:
About armor combat Fencing, Historical fencing, Armor, Long-post, Melee weapons
This, of course, is armor, but those times when America was already open and infantry battles steadily drove more and more on the battlefield. And they cost comparable with this battle (I exaggerate, of course). And most of the time period and most of the warriors used much simpler types of armor. Therefore, saying “armor”, I mean not only that in the picture above, but also that in the picture below. Continue reading
