On the anniversary of the collaboration of Michael Schumacher and Mercedes
At the end of the year, Mercedes will mark a round date from the beginning of cooperation with one of the best drivers in the history of Formula 1, Michael Schumacher. If you think that everything began in 2009, then you are mistaken – their relationship this year will be 30 years old.
In the mid-80s, Mercedes decided to return to big motorsport after a 30-year hiatus. To do this, they found a partner – the Sauber team, which competed in endurance races. Seven-time world champion, nine-time European champion, numerous champion of our country – in general, the “first saber of the world” Sophia the Great helped us to understand the rules of fencing and to love this exciting sport with all my heart.
The World Fencing Championship, held in July in the capital’s Olympic, gave us a surprise. And the matter is not in the scale of the event, although they are amazing: 912 athletes from 108 countries showed up for the competition. Fencing styles
Fencing styles can be conditionally divided into Eastern and European fencing. European styles are usually called schools (eg: German school, Italian school, etc.). We systematize all our knowledge in one article so that it is convenient to navigate and choose the style of European fencing to your liking.
English school of fencing.
The main weapon: mainly a light sword, a buckler shield, broadsword.
Highlights: The English school combined the techniques taken from other schools (in particular the French), and supplemented them with the techniques inherent in the English light sword and broadsword. The English school used both injections and blows, prescribed various second-hand weapons: from the buckler shield to the pistol taken by the barrel.
